Research Assistant at NC State University

August 2026 - Present
National Science Foundation Assistantship with the Spatial Ecosystems Analytics Lab (SEAL) to study how hydroclimate whiplash affects wildfire activity in the southeastern US.

September 2025 - May 2026
Edited and validated 3DEP hydrography datasets, optimizing culvert placement and network connectivity.

Developed a pipeline to extract road layers from hillshade imagery, producing more
accurate road data than existing OpenStreetMap sources. This improved accuracy strengthens
hydrography network connectivity analysis.

associated with elevated fire hazard in the California Central Valley foothills (PyTorch, Raster Vision, Faster R-CNN).
Identified hazardous evacuation routes in Tehama County based on fieldwork and GIS analysis.
Earned Firefighter II certification and participated in prescribed burns.

Prescribed burn in Upper Bidwell Park of Chico, CA, 2023.
Deployed mobile GIS workstations to wildfire incidents across Northern California, including the 2023 South Fork Complex, 2024 Aero Fire, 2024 Shelly Fire, and 2024 Park Fire.
