- Namely, I created a convolution neural network to identify gray pines with the package Raster Vision (++ PyTorch, Faster R-CNN).
- Gray pines are often an indicator of fire hazard in the California Central-Valley Foothills; thus deserving focus.
- Script automates the process of calculating, resampling and assembling inputs.
- This was previously done one-by-one.
- Shown in figure below.
- Identified road segments at highest risk during evauation from wildfire.
- Used combination of field work and GIS.
